I’ve always wanted to buy a laptop for myself but never got the chance to have one. Soon, hubby is leaving and the only cheapest means of communication that we could have is through chatting. I heard that in the place where he’s going, laptop ranges from $700 above, good deal eh?
That’s why I told him to get one as soon as he gets there and I will take the desktop home with me. If I get lucky, then maybe I’ll get my own laptop too! When? That I do not know yet hahaha!
If I knew that he’ll be going by the end of next month, I would have taken the one that my colleague was selling before they left Bahrain. It was slightly used but he had to give it up because he needed extra cash before they went to Australia.
Anyway, let’s see if my husband gets a better deal when he reaches there…
A lot of my friends and cousins asked me what is blog all about? And why am I so hooked into it. “I earn from from it”, I said with confidence. That’s the start when they asked some more information about problogging and even shown their interest.
I explained them that their blog has to be at least 3 months old with 20 posts or more, active and updated. I advised them to start with blogger, or otherwise get a self hosted domain. I had given them a website that could help them start from domain registration.
With every domain registration you get some features for free like:
24/7 Customer Support
Email Hosting
URL Forwarding
Management Tools
Domain Name Parking
Member Account
Renewal Reminders
FAST Domain Approval
If it’s not within your budget, you can view their pricelist online. Or otherwise, get your domain registered for two years and certain discounts will be given to you.
But you know what’s the best thing about this offer? The 24/7 Customer Support. I find this very important especially for those people who are not technically gifted. At least someone will be there to assist them anytime. Now I’m thinking of getting another one.
I have two Uncles based in Florida and one of them regularly chats with me on Thursdays. I asked him to put his webcam on the last time we chatted and noticed the wide gap of his hairline from his eyebrows. :p I teased him about it and I am not sure if he got offended. Though he continued chatting with me, I think he was bothered and realized that he’s not getting any younger. That he has to pay attention to his physical look especially that he still single at his age of 40. Ouch! I know he’s still young to lose his hair but honestly I don’t know the reason why…
As we continued chatting online, I tried to convince him that he should get a Hair Transplant in Florida. At first, he was hesitant and said that he does not need anything like that. But deep inside I know he wanted to give it a try. I ended up my discussion with him by still teasing him hahaha!
Two days after, he sent me a message over YM and asked for the link that I had given him two days ago. Hmmmm… I think he’s convinced. *wink*
When I was still working in Bahrain, I usually encounter art works that occupy our office space most of the time. We have tried installing a built-in cabinets but it didn’t work just right. We still ended up accumulating things without proper storage. Result? Some edges were torn and chipped. Frames were scratched. And many times it happened when my boss shipped them from the US to Bahrain, some were damaged. I’m sure he wasn’t happy about it coz he spent so much on them.
I wish I have seen this art storage when I was still there. I wish I have told my boss about it. It’s recommended for people who travel with expensive art works. They have proper crates built to protect the goods from damages. And the best part is they also have Transporting. That means goods would be properly taken care of as it is their expertise. If you are in doubt of the prices, you can actually request pricing and other information that you need from them. Just by looking at their website, you know that they work professional. You can make out the way they have created it to attract clients.
Last week, I heard that the hotel where I’m working with will soon replace the vacuum cleaners that they’ve been using for sometime. And the best part was they are giving away the used ones to the staff. See how generous these people are!
Well, this is not the first time that they have done it. They’ve also been distributing used carpets for the past years and I think the vacuum cleaners will be very useful for this. Then I don’t have to worry buying for my own vacuum cleaner.
I wish to get two units. At least I will be able to grant my mother’s Christmas wish for free. While I can use the other unit left. I wish. I really wish… Otherwise, if only one unit is to be given then maybe I’ll just buy a similar one from Dyson. I heard that they have nice and reasonable cleaning products.
It’s a good feeling when you know that your old friends have excelled in their own ways. Recently, a friend of mine who migrated to the US last year has introduced her young business - it’s all about fashion bags. She had approached me for some help. I told her that she should have her own hosted website so that people could see her items on sale online.
And she did!
At the moment, we are in the process of customizing and improving it in such a way that her clients will be impressed and at the same time it has to be a user-friendly site. Meaning easy navigation should be considered. I told her about the ecommerce software that she could use. Clients could track the items they had chosen. In that way, it’s easier to add and remove items if they change their minds. Not only that, it is made affordable so that young entrepreneurs could afford it. They also have a 10 day free trial. How cool is that? Well, I just hope that I was good enough to convince her. I’m keeping my fingers crossed! ;-)
I sent my former colleague who migrated to Australia an email showing him the latest digital scrap layouts that I made recently plus the link to my digital scrap blog. He used to help me a lot about the tips and tricks of Adobe Photoshop, and now that I know some, I get excited every time I finished a layout.
I wasn’t expecting that he would reply soon, for I know that they are still adjusting and that he’s busy with some of his side business. I was surprised when he replied to me after a couple of days, praising my artworks and said that I’ve improved a lot. He even said that I should get these artworks compiled like how he used to do. He’s right, but where’s the time to do that, especially now that we are getting ready to go home.
He then mentioned and suggested that I should get a digital picture frame. I replied with a smiley icon and said : I was thinking about that and found an interesting one in one of the online shops in Australia. *wink*
He asked for the link and said “I’ll get it for you… a Christmas present…”
And They Whispered
